Hero Yorkie Fends Off Attacking Coyote To Save Her 10-Year-Old Owner.

There is nothing more special than the bond between a young child and his dog. Every child should grow up with a dog – they are not only loving companions, but they are also very protective of their owners, always ready to step up to the plate when there is danger.

That’s what a very brave little girl proved this week, after defending her 10-year-old owner from a coyote, injuring herself in the process.

Macy is a six-year-old Yorkie who lives with her owner Dorothy Kwan and her family in Scarborough, Toronto.

Recently, Macy went for a walk with the family’s 10-year-old daughter – and things took a dramatic turn when the girl came face to face with Macy. Dorothy was heartbroken, knowing that her beloved Canis Minor was injured to save her daughter. “My heart breaks for my baby and for our dog, who we rescued five years ago. I am a mother of two and my children and our dog mean everything to me.”

Macy was taken to the animal hospital where she received treatment for her injuries, but the bill ended up costing thousands of dollars.

But when the family set up a GoFundMe page to raise money, sharing Macy’s heroic story with the planet, people responded: the page has nearly $20,000, doubling its fundraising goal. Aces with a wild coyote.

But surprisingly, the little dog became a hero, facing the coyote to protect his master.

The sequence is shocking: we see the coyote attacking Macy in the background as the girl screams for help.

But in the end, it is Macy who emerges victorious in the showdown: Macy continues to bark, and the coyote eventually retreats, as if chased by the little canine.

“You can see our dog get between my daughter and so the coyote,” Dorothy Kwan told blog GTO. “Even after she was severely injured, she continued to bark and chase the coyote. She fought back.”

While Macy was able to avoid the coyote, she was still left with serious injuries. “She received significant injuries to her body and leg,” Dorothy writes. “She is undergoing surgery for her injuries at the emergency animal hospital.”

And even better, Macy is now recovering well, according to Dorothy’s updates on the fundraising page.

“Her fever is gone and she has regained her appetite,” she wrote today. “I am very happy with her. No coyote will want to mess with her when she gets home. My feisty daughter can be a real fighter. I like you a lot. You’re going to make it!”
