The father who didn’t want a dog now takes him for a nap.
Most people love dogs without reservation, but there are others who, for one reason or another, prefer to avoid them.
Seven years ago, Rachael Rodrigues acquired Oliver, an adorable Golden Retriever puppy. She was thrilled, but also a little shocked.
She was thrilled, but she didn’t know what to do with him, as she knew her parents’ feelings about dogs.
Rachael told The Dodo:
“My parents were strongly opposed to getting a dog since we had always had cats and they didn’t want to take on the extra effort (training, walking, grooming, etc.) involved in owning a dog.”
Despite this, she chose to bring her new pet home, and to her surprise, her parents’ reaction was fantastic.
Her parents took Oliver in and ended up falling completely in love with him, something Rachael thought she could never do. But because of Oliver’s endearing demeanor, her parents succumbed to his charms, and he quickly became a part of the family.
The most wonderful thing is how happy Rachael’s father was with Oliver; there was such a strong connection between them that they quickly created a truly unique friendship.
Rachael stated,
“Daddy was in love at first sight. He frequently walked around the house with Oliver in his arms. The first week we had Oliver, we thought his tummy hurt and he wouldn’t sleep through the night, so Daddy slept on the floor with him under a blanket and patted his tummy all night.”
They have become inseparable since meeting, and Oliver has been the special attention, and he has become the spoiled one.
Although he hates to admit it, Rachael’s father has treated Oliver as if he were another member of the family, which the dog enjoys.
Oliver’s father loves him so much that when it’s time for his nap, he covers him with a blanket to keep him warm. This beautiful image is repeated every time it’s time to sleep, and it’s undoubtedly one of the most beautiful views in the world.
Rachael stated,
“Because Oliver was sleeping on Daddy’s pillow, Daddy decided it was safe to cover him.”
Rachael’s father envelops Oliver as a big boy, and despite the fact that he never wanted a dog, he has now become his spoiled child.
Now Oliver has become Rachael’s father’s most adored son, and he definitely adores his human father.
