Read on to find out where this clever kitten has been hiding all along.

Best friends forever

Paul and Percy fell in love at first sight.

Quiet and curious, Percy fit into the life of the truck like a champ.

Before they knew it, they had been in constant company on the road for a year.

Paul and Percy drove thousands of miles across the country next to each other.

Paul even built Percy his own little “suite” in the passenger suite so he could look out the window and enjoy the ever-changing view.

The two were inseparable!

But one day, Paul woke up with the passenger window down and Percy nowhere to be found…

Percy disappears
Percy, being the smart and clever cat that he is, had learned to roll down the window when he saw a bird or something interesting outside.

But before that, Paul was always awake to make sure Percy didn’t get out of the truck.

This time it was different. Paul started to panic.

He got out of the truck and shook Percy’s food bag, saying, “Percy! Percy Wercy!”

All he got was silence. Percy was nowhere to be found.

Paul, in a panic, scoured the area, searching every corner of the rest area.

To make matters worse, temperatures were dropping and a dangerous storm was coming…

Heartbroken but not desperate

Devastated by Percy’s disappearance, Paul sought help on Facebook.

It turns out that the trucker-cat duo had built a loyal following over the years thanks to Paul’s photographs that sometimes featured his faithful assistant, Percy.

Paul was overwhelmed with emotion by the kindness and support of his international online community.

Fans offered to call nearby shelters and one person even came forward to help with the search.

“It’s starting to rain, it’s freezing, we’re outside, soaking wet, beating the bushes, calling ‘Percy.'” Paul told MPR.

Despite all the help, Paul returned to his truck empty-handed.

After a restless night of sleep, Paul had no choice but to keep moving.

400 Miles Later

“I’m a truck driver, I have a truck full of goods worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and I signed on a dotted line saying I’ll have them delivered at such and such a time,” he said. “I have no choice but to stay if I want to.

Residents set traps and assured Paul they would continue the search.

Paul will never forget how heartbroken he was when he left the truck stop.

“I felt so bad,” he said. “I suddenly felt like I was abandoning my child.

All he could think about was little Percy, alone and hungry, shivering in the cold.

But duty called.

Paul made his first delivery without Percy, now 400 miles from where his beloved cat had disappeared.

Arriving at his next destination, Paul got out of the truck to pick up some papers for his next stop.

Suddenly, he turned around and saw something that left him speechless.

Percy…is that you?

A stray cat has crawled under Paul’s truck.

At first, Paul didn’t understand what he was seeing. It couldn’t be Percy – Percy was 400 miles away.

Then he took a closer look.

“I suddenly recognized him. He looked at me with his big eyes, like, ‘Daddy?”‘” says Paul.

Bursting with joy, Paul picked up Percy, jumped into the truck and hugged him where they both cuddled in joy.

“I took him into the truck and we snuggled together, and he was rubbing against me,” Paul says. “Oh my God, he stunk.”

Percy had technically never left the truck – he had been there the whole time.

He had been hiding under the cab of the truck for more than 400 miles.

Finally reunited

Luckily, Percy survived. Except for the smell of diesel ash, he was perfectly healthy!

Paul informed his online community of this incredible reunion.

STOP THE SEARCH!!! PERCY IS OK!!!” wrote Paul. He thanked everyone for their help and signed, “This little orange furry soul means the world to me. Thanks to you too for caring about him”.

Now that they are finally reunited, these two can look forward to a lifetime of exciting adventures. After being apart for so long, they can now make up for lost time and create new memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it’s exploring new places or just enjoying each other’s company, this duo is sure to have many wonderful experiences. The bond between them is stronger than ever and they are ready to embark on their journey together with joy and excitement.
